Our Scout Troop is divided into six Patrols; Eagles, Falcons, Hawks, Kestrels, Owls, and Merlins. Each Patrol has a Patrol Leader (PL) who is in charge of the Patrol and an Assistant Patrol Leader (APL) who stands in the for PL when he is not around and generally assists in the running of the Patrols. The Troop is overseen by the Senior Patrol Leader(s) (SPL's). The SPL spot is now vacant because Alex Dale and David Oxley lef the Scout Troop to seek greener pastures in the Venture Unit. Each Patrol is beginning to write something for this page. Keep looking at this page for updates.
The PL's are supposed to run the Troop pretty much on their own and our Troop tries to fulfil this through meetings of the Patrol Leaders' Council (PLC). The PLC meets each month and discusses together regarding the running of the Troop. The PLC decides on events such as the location of Summer Camp and who is to be voted in as the next PL's. The chairman of the PLC is Daniel Garner and the secretary is Andrew Ruck

The Eagles Patrol encountered a change of leadership in late November 1997. I like to think that we are improving to become strong competitors for the points trophy that is handed out every six weeks to the patrol with the highest amount of points. The age range in our patrol is varied and quite balanced, ranging at the time of writing (January 1998), from 11, to nearly 14. We are all keen hikers in Eagles, with four of us forming the winning team in the 1997 Bakers Dozen Hike, back in July, this was a great achievement for us. Our last Patrol Activity was in June 1997. Where we hiked from our local campsite, Parkwood, to Bramber Castle, 8 miles from it, and afterwards completed a project for the Local Heritage badge. It was organised by myself, then A.P.L, with help from the rest of the patrol. So all this makes the Eagles are an adventurous, improving patrol.
