Autumn Industrial Trains Day
Sunday 19 October 2008

Industrial Trains Day
Click the picture for some photographs

Our industrial fleet will be back in action for this event. If you missed the last one, or Gala Weekend, be sure not to this time.

Plans are for the passenger service to be operated by double headed Hudson Hunslet locomotives - subject to availability of course. Wendy will be in her industrial disguise with cab sheets.

Don't miss this final opportunity for this season.

PETER progress

Progress on Peter has been fairly slow lately for various reasons. However, we are adding pictures of progress on a regular basis. For the latest click the picture below.

At the end of the 2003 season, Peter, our Bagnall saddle tank locomotive, had to be taken out of service as its 10-year boiler certificate had expired. Well, now our patience has been rewarded.

The Amberley Steam Locomotive Driving Experience
Please note that with Peter out of service awaiting the completion of restoration work, we regret that
we are not able to offer this course for the time being.

We are hoping to reinstate The Amberley Steam Locomotive Driving Experience next year (2009).

Railway Gala Weekend

Become a volunteer ...

... on the Amberley Working Museum Narrow Gauge Railway

We are always happy to welcome new volunteers to Amberley, not just on the railway but generally. Ideally new volunteers should already be 2 foot gauge, like the one illustrated, but our workshop facilities have the means to regauge suitable candidates if necessary - even from standard gauge!

Contact information is given at the foot of this page.
