The Worthing Seafront Bus Gathering
and Running Day

Sunday 27 July 2008

The 2008 Worthing Seafront Bus Gathering will, as usual, be held on Worthing Seafront on Sunday 27 July. This year, we will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the entry into service of the first Southdown Motor Services Leyland Titan PD3s - a type known by most as The Queen Mary.

There were eventually 285 such buses built for Southdown and they remained in service well into the National Bus Company era and some even longer - one is still owned by Stagecoach South as part of its heritage fleet.
