This 1958 Leyland Tiger Cub was formerly in the fleet of Jones of Aberbeeg. It is seen here in Durrington (not Ebbw Vale) on one of the mystery tours which operated throughout the day.
Stagecoach in London - to use the new terminology, sent Leyland Titan T1 (THX401S), resplendant in its original livery with white upper deck window surrounds and LT roundels.
A newcomer to the rally scene was RT1705 (KYY532), which did a few trips around town.
London buses in use with other operators were represented by Emsworth & District's example, ex-T829 (A829SUL) seen here on one of the free services.
The immediate post privatisation livery of Maidstone & District has recently been applied to highbridge bodied VR 5138 (WKO138S), complete with a typical wrap-round advertisement which were popular at the time.
Don McCririck's Southern Vectis Bristol RE/ECW TDL563K still carries the modern Southern Vectis livery in which it was acquired. The company seem to have allowed him to keep the fleetnames intact. I suspect that this bus will, in due course, be repainted into NBC green.
Finally - Michael Plunkett's Thames Valley Tilling Stevens was the oldest bus in the rally this year and put many to shame by operating four journeys in service around the west end of Worthing, Goring and Ferring. It was very popular indeed. MO9324 is, as many will know, normally a resident bus at Amberley Museum.
