Who are JSS Singers? Formed in 1989 from senior pupils of Jan Spooner-Swabey, the Worthing based JSS Singers have had much success both locally and nationally with their mix of choral and music theatre work. There are now junior and senior choirs and ensembles, comprising in all about 80 young performers with ages ranging from 7 to 20. The majority of the singers are soloists in their own right achieving their own successes in music festivals and recitals.
Jan Spooner-Swabey B.Mus was herself a music theatre performer but is now solely involved with teaching and training young performers. She has been a resident of Worthing since 1977, playing an active role in local music activities.
Julie Windwood, the group's accompanist, is one of Worthing's best and adds greatly to the group's musical standing. |
